Summer is over and I’m back.
I joined the Canadian Army Reserve late last year, so I was in basic all summer.
I used to think that the Full Metal Jacket-esque screaming drill instructor, along with all those related army training stereotypes, were fiction. Strangely enough, I was largely wrong. Basic was the hardest thing I’ve ever done, but damn, when you finish basic, you feel some real pride. Nobody can ever take that away from you.
I took some pictures. Enjoy.
